Why is this the ultimate team building experience?
Besides being great fun and accessible to people of all ages, Hashtag Escape's adventures offer very real benefits when used as corporate team building events. You'll probably be having too much fun to notice, but the time pressure and unknown challenges of our escape rooms compel individuals to work together as a team to escape in time.

Our challenges are specifically designed to be impossible for a single person to complete and multiple challenges can be attempted simultaneously - the players quickly identify the strengths and weaknesses of their fellow escapees to best conquer the numerous and diverse challenges presented in the environment.

The nature of the challenges also ensure that diversity in the team is a huge benefit. It is not uncommon for a player who started out as timid and unsure to solve a puzzle that stumped the rest of the team - the self confidence boost this provides the player is immeasurable and lasts for long after the hour is up.

Logistics
Currently our 7 rooms can accommodate 50 players per hour, and our Chambers can accommodate 24 players per hour.

For teams larger than 74 we recommend incorporating a lunch into your event and booking back-to-back slots so that the rest of the team is occupied while the current group makes their escape. This also allows for team discussion afterwards so that the players can identify how they overcame particular challenges.

We recommend adding a Trivia session or Amazing Race for either the team waiting for their slot, or during the lunch to keep the team building experience flowing throughout the day.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Here is some nitty gritty information that is also important.

Terms and conditions for purchasing admission and playing games operated by Hashtag Experience (Pty) Ltd trading as Hashtag Escape.

Premises are operated by Hashtag Experience (Pty) Ltd (Reg no: 2015/294282/07) trading as Hashtag Escape, hereafter referred to as “The Company”.
The operating premises of the Company are Bedford Square Shopping Centre, Van Der Linde Road, Bedfordview, Johannesburg, South Africa.
All visitors and game participants enter the premises at their own risk.
The Company and/or each and any of its respective directors, employees or contractors, agents or representatives do not accept responsibility for any damage, loss, claim or other expense of whatever kind or nature, whether for death, personal injury, loss, damage to property or otherwise, including but not limited to medical claims and legal expenses, regardless of whether such injury, loss or damage results from the negligent or wilful act of the Company or from any other cause whatsoever.
These terms and conditions apply to participants of any games hosted and facilitated by the Company and to persons visiting the Company’s premises.
Any logos, slogans or trademarks displayed on the website or the premises or promotional material are the property of the Company. You are not permitted to use these without the prior written permission of the Company.
Participants in the games accept that the Company owns the copyright to all content, written material, audio, video, instructions or verbal descriptions which form part of the games or briefing. Copy of such will constitute an infringement of the Company’s copyright.
The Company requires that participants do not disclose details of the game directly or indirectly to the public.
The game accommodates 3 to 7 people and the total price of the booking is set based on the number of people participating.
The total quoted price of the booking excludes VAT.
The Company uses reputable payment agents and will take all reasonable precautions to protect the security of any payment card information, however, the Company shall not be liable for any damage that you may suffer as a result of the loss of confidentiality of any such information.
No requests for cancellations or refunds will be accepted.
If fewer people arrive for the game than the number booked and paid for, the difference will not be refunded.
If more people arrive than the number of people booked and paid for (up to a maximum of 6 players total), the additional cost may be settled at the premises prior to the commencement of the game.
You must be over the age of 18 years to make a booking.
Children under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Children under the age of 7 are not permitted to participate in the games.
Participants are required to be present no less than 5 minutes before the scheduled start of the game.
Late arrivals will have their stipulated game time reduced by accordingly. Entry will be denied if participants arrive more than 15 minutes after the stipulated starting time of the game. The Company will not reschedule for late arrivals and the booking is not refundable.
The Company reserves the right to deny entry to any individual who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Food and drinks may not be brought onto the premises.
No recording devices may be bought into the venue. The Company will provide secure containers for these and other valuables of the participants. While every reasonable effort will be taken to ensure the safety of these valuables, the Company cannot be held responsible for loss/theft of or damage to such valuables.
Participants will receive a rules and safety briefing prior to the commencement of a game.
The participants in the games hereby indemnify the Company for any injury or loss resulting from not adhering to the rules of the game or to the rules of the premises.
The Company is not liable for injury or damage caused by misuse of the game room or equipment or from failure to follow the rules of the game. The Company reserves the right to terminate a game should any of the participants behave in a way that could compromise the safety of their fellow participants or cause damage to the room and equipment.
Participants will be liable for the cost of damages to the premises, rooms or equipment from wilful damage or misuse of the property or as a result of failure to follow rules and/or instructions.
Unless specifically denied, participants consent to have photographs or videos of themselves taken on the premises that may be used on the website, social media accounts managed by the Company or other channels of communication.

TELL ME MORE

Q: How much does it cost?
A: R325 per person for the 1 hour experience.

Q: Am I really locked in?
A: Yes you are but the game is closely monitored on camera and you may end the game at any time if you really want to.

Q: What if I have a team bigger than 7 people?
A: We have 7 rooms and they run concurrently so we will split your group amongst the rooms.

Q: Is it dangerous?
A: Absolutely not. The designers of the game have taken great care to ensure your safety. It’s no more dangerous than the average day at the office, but we guarantee it’s a whole lot more fun.

Q: This sounds too difficult, puzzles are not for me.
A: The game has been tested on people of all ages and they all loved it just as much!

Q: What if I can’t solve the puzzles?
A: Your team will be monitored on a camera during the game and you will receive clues and hints to help you out if you struggle so don’t stress!

Q: What about all my stuff? Bag, phone, keys etc.
A: We have secure lockers for all your valuables to ensure you can focus on having a great time.

Q: I’m physically challenged – vision, hearing, mobility etc. Can I still do this?
A: The game contains many challenges that rely on audio and vision so we advise that at least one of your players should not have hearing or visual difficulties.
